Rising DJ and producer, Plastic Toy, has just dropped the music video for his debut single with DJ Snake, Try Me.
The new slick mid-tempo production has been released through DJ Snake’s label, Premiere Classe.
The captivating track combines a powerful beat with an underlying variety of piano chords throughout.
The music video features a man who gets a special box delivered to him and after opening the box and consuming what’s inside, he turns into a plastic toy (of course).

The most interesting thing in this song for me, is the lead synth that comes in with the drop. With DJ Snake, we pushed the track to a whole new level, giving it that powerful and melodic sound. Working with Snake was very inspiring. He has the ability to feel the music and what’s going to sound good.
After learning to play drums at age 14, creating his own electronic sounds through keyboard, and now producing distinctive and powerful signature sounds, this is only the beginning for the French DJ/Producer.
We got the chance to catch up with Plastic Toy to chat about his his debut single, working with DJ Snake and what his 2019 is set to look like.
For those who don’t know you, how would you describe yourself and your music?
I’m a French electronic music producer, I grew up in the suburbs of Paris. I would say that my music is a cool and chill vibe, very melodic. It totally fits to my name, it’s fun and full of colors as toys would be!
Tell us about your debut single?
Try Me with DJ Snake is a song I am very proud of. It’s been a while since I wanted to make a track like that. Something really deep and powerful at the same time, and very emotional. It has this catchy melody that I’m looking for on every track, and Snake’s input just pushed the track to a whole new level.
What was it like working with DJ Snake to release your first track?
It was absolutely crazy! When I received his answer to the demo I sent him, I just couldn’t believe it. I had to take a few days to calm down, and we started working on the track. It was so inspiring working with DJ Snake, the guy’s a genius. He knows how to make things match to each other, what’s going to sound good… I learned a lot from working with him.
When did you get into music?
I was around 13 and it was at a wedding. There was a little band playing music during the party, and I got stuck watching the drummer the whole night. The next day, I asked my parents for a drumkit and that’s how it all started. I played in rock bands for a few years, and someday a friend told me about FL Studio. I downloaded the demo, started producing my first beat and never stopped from that day.
What’s your favourite instrument to play?
I love to play the piano, even though I can’t play it very well. But I love the sound of it.
Did you have any other aspirations growing up?
I love every form of art, and I studied fine arts and graphic design for years. Today, it helps me a lot to create my visuals and visual identity.
Who do you dream of working with?
Working with DJ Snake is already a dream that has come true! I’m also a huge fan of deadmau5. I love his chords and melodies; I would love to work with him. But I think those who inspire me the most at the moment are the guys from Zonderling, they’re doing an amazing job and I just can’t get enough of their tracks.
What can we expect from you for 2019?
More music, more fun, and more toys!
