The French World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from PSG for a few transfer windows now, and Real Madrid has long been thought of as the natural destination for the forward.

The 24-year-old is into his seventh season at PSG, scoring a staggering 215 goals and picking up 98 assists in his 262 matches for the Parisians.

The forward has just a year remaining on his two year deal that he signed last summer, and the former Monaco star stated earlier in the summer that he would not extend the deal further.

PSG are thought to prefer the idea of selling the forward this summer for a large sum of money, rather than keeping the 24-year-old for another season and losing him for free this time next year.

However, with the season now having started and the Frenchman scoring thrice in two appearances, one of which off the bench, it appears possible that Mbappe will see out his contract, something previously thought to be very unlikely.

Real Madrid announced the departure of their long serving striker Karim Benzema to Saudi Arabia earlier this summer, and are now in the market to find a capable replacement.

Harry Kane had been rumoured to interest the owners at the Bernabeu, but the Englishman has since signed for German champions Bayern Munich as he looks to win some trophies.

PSG have also already announced the departure of two of their star players in Lionel Messi, who has joined Inter Miami in the MLS, and Neymar having followed him out of the exit door to join the Saudi league.

Mbappe has won every domestic trophy available to him in France on multiple occasions but is still yet to earn himself a Champions League winners' medal, something that may be with in reach should he move to Madrid and join the competition's most successful club.

Rumours broke earlier in the summer of Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal bidding a world record fee of £259million in a bid acquire the services of arguably the best player in the world.

Several world class big names have followed in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps this summer in joining the Middle Eastern league, with teams offering eyewatering contracts to their new recruits.

N'Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and the aforementioned Benzema and Neymar are just some of several huge names to have made the move to the Gulf nation this summer, and Mbappe could be next, though those odds have drifted to 16/1.

Liverpool have 25/1 odds to sign the World Cup winner, with a year-long loan move being hinted at which would see out the final year of his contract in Paris.

The Reds have seen a lot of players leave the club this window, including forward Roberto Firmino whom they have yet to find a replacement for.

Darwin Nunez had an okay first season at Anfield in the last campaign, but the addition of Mbappe would improve any team around the world and would be some signing if Jurgen Klopp and co can pull it off.

A potential move to Italy has also been rumoured, with those odds also stood at 25/1, with Inter Milan thought to be interested in a possible, yet unlikely, move.

Manchester City are also in the mix at 33/1 to sign Mbappe but having bought goal machine Erling Haaland last season, it's unlikely Pep Guardiola's side will be in the hunt for a new man to lead their line in the near future.

German champions Bayern Munich and last season's fourth best Premier League side Newcastle are slightly further back in the pecking order, also at 33/1 each.
