In the 2015 NBA Draft, Oubre was chosen with the 15th overall choice by the Atlanta Hawks. The Washington Wizards then acquired his draft rights.

On February 24, he played in his first game back, going 8 points and grabbing 3 rebounds in a 121-113 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Oubre inked a contract with the Philadelphia 76ers on September 26, 2023. On November 11, Oubre was hit by an automobile while out on a stroll close to his Center City home.
He was taken to the hospital, and it’s likely that he will be out for a while. Oubre was averaging 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 50% shooting in 29 minutes per game at the time of the crash.
