Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner is not good at keeping secrets. The 22-year-old actress recently admitted that she has told some of her friends how the hit HBO series will end.
“I’m so bad at keeping secrets,” Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, said. “I don’t think people tell me things anymore because they know that I can’t keep them. I’ve already told the ending of Game of Thrones to a few people.”
Turner says she was completely sober when she revealed the ending, and she even did it on purpose. She says that she didn’t spoil the ending for random people. Instead, she told people that are close to her that she knows can keep a secret.

According to Insider, HBO has gone to extremes during the show’s run to protect leaks, but it has been impossible to keep all of the secrets under wraps. During Season 7, the word of Gendry’s return got out when a video leaked online of actor Joe Dempsie filming new scenes.
For the 8th and final season, the GOT cast and crew shot multiple versions of the ending to prevent fans from knowing how it all ends. HBO Programming President Casey Bloys confirmed this strategy in 2017 when speaking at Moravian College in Pennsylvania.
Star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) said on THR’s Awards Chatter podcast that she isn’t really sure how the series ends because they filmed “a bunch of stuff” and didn’t tell the actors the actual ending because “they don’t even trust us.”
Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont) told BBC Radio 5 that the cast received secured iPads to read all of the scripts for Season 8 because producers are “absolutely paranoid” about people finding out and spoiling the finale.
Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss revealed that they copied the approach of Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson and Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy for keeping secrets.

Weiss said Johnson and Kennedy gave them a lot of hints about how to lock things down, and they were things that they had never thought of or knew were possible. The show filmed under the fake name Face of Angels and also used code names on the scripts. They even used “drone killer” guns to keep bots from flying over the set.
