Southern Charm has just returned to Bravo and there is already so much to talk about. One of the many topics that were up for discussion in the latest episode was Kathryn Dennis’ now ex-boyfriend who shared many similarities to her baby daddy Thomas Ravenel.
Kathryn met Joseph Abruzzo at a Miami Dolphins football game and hit it off. The 39-year-old is was in politics, had a hot and cold relationship with the mother of his son, and is no stranger to public drama — much like Thomas.
Craig Conover served as the town gossip when he spread the rumors about Joseph’s leaked photos and abuse allegations to his peers on the show. Although Joseph and Kathryn had an amicable split, Abruzzo didn’t like the way he was portrayed on Wednesday night’s episode.
The father of one spoke to Entertainment Tonight where he suggested that the cast and producers are using his former relationship as a storyline.
‘I stand by my service to our nation as a military veteran, a former state senator who sponsored 50 bills into law, of which many have saved lives, protected women and children and the community I served. Most importantly, a single father raising a young son. While briefly dating Kathryn, I never met the cast of Southern Charm. They surely do not know me, the manner of which I retired from public office with awards and accolades, nor my character and values. Therefore, the false comparisons and misrepresentations made by some of the cast and production about me is simply an attempt to add more drama to their show.’
He went on to say: ‘I only wish the best for Kathryn and her future, and respectfully ask the cast to refrain from carrying out the will of producers and focus on stories of their own lives.’
